Ella Leving

Coordinator of Community Outreach (she/her/hers)

Ella grew up in Israel and speaks several languages, with fluency in Russian, Hebrew, and English and moderate fluency in Italian. Ella holds a BA in art history and education and a master of library and information science and comes to the Center for Modern Aging Princeton (CMAP) team with over twenty-five years of experience in community engagement and outreach, event and project management, public programming, and social and information services. Ella coordinates intergenerational programming at CMAP, including the GrandPals and Seniors-for- Seniors programs. She is also responsible for enhancing our community connections with other nonprofits, municipal agencies, and community organizations as well as creating diverse programming opportunities to reach new participants. Outside of work, Ella loves to design jewelry and has a passion for utilizing recycled elements and sustainably sourced materials to ensure that we are kind to our beautiful planet. She also has a passion for cooking and loves to improvise in the kitchen using “a little bit of this” and “a pinch of that” to craft a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure (that can most often not be repeated – but creates a magical moment for her guests!). “Hey, retired me!” she writes to her future self, “keep the adventure alive! Don’t be afraid to try new things, meet new people, and savor every moment. And remember, it’s never too late to pick up a wild hobby or embark on a crazy journey. Stay young at heart, embrace the unknown, and keep those joyous moments coming!”
