Johanna Peters

jpeters@cmaprinceton.orgJohanna was born in the South American country of Guyana and came to Center for Modern Aging Princeton (CMAP) with an MA in English literature after a sixteen-year career in social services, working for the Department of Human Services in New York, NY. Johanna’s experience in New York includes several management positions, including as director of adult protective services. Johanna provides oversight to the social services department at CMAP, coordinating the work of an outstanding team of social service professionals to meet the needs of participants and their families. Johanna manages CMAP’s on-site services in various affordable housing communities throughout Princeton and has a passion for serving the residents of these communities. She also provides support, guidance, and case management as well as facilitating several discussion and support groups. Like many CMAP staff, Johanna is an avid gardener and provides staff with a variety of home-grown herbs and vegetables. Johanna also loves bowling, reading, cooking, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity. In retirement, Johanna plans to have a small cottage home where she can garden, relax, and be at peace. To her future self, Johanna would say, “Relax! Enjoy your peace. You’ve earned it!”
