The AmeriCorps program in partnership with CMAP invites an intergenerational team of volunteers, including students, mid-career professionals, and retirees, to work side-by-side in strengthening community connections and helping ensure no one ages alone.
The Digital Literacy Support Team helps participants at the Technology Lab use tablets, email, video calls, and online tools to stay connected in today’s digital world. They also lead programs in technology education on topics including operating systems, cyber security, and device proficiency.
AmeriCorps Programs volunteers support GrandPals as site-leaders and assist various other programs that make CMAP one of a kind.
Social work interns participate in comprehensive, hands-on learning under the guidance of CMAP’s social worker and education coordinator and the social services team. They are actively involved in a wide range of groups and programs addressing dementia, caregiving, memory loss, isolation, bereavement, and other initiatives that promote connection and engagement.
The AmeriCorps-sponsored CMAP Third Act Volunteer Corps connects older adults with meaningful volunteer opportunities that strengthen our community while fostering purpose, connection, and belonging.
