Crosstown Transportation
Crosstown is a door-to-door transportation service for seniors aged sixty-five and up, and people with disabilities who live in the municipality of Princeton. The service is provided by a partnership between CMAP and RideProvide, a program of the Greater Mercer Transportation Management Authority.
Who Can Ride?
To be a Crosstown rider you must be:
- A Princeton municipal resident
- Age sixty-five and up, OR have a physical disability
- Able to get yourself to the car and in/out of the car without assistance
- Registered with the Crosstown program through CMAP

Paying for Rides
- Rides cost $3 each way, which is payable by voucher.
- Riders may purchase up to twenty vouchers at a time from CMAP.
Ways to Purchase Vouchers:
- In-Person: Visit us at Nancy S. Klath Center for Lifelong Learning or Suzanne Patterson Building and pay using credit card, cash, or check.
- By mail: Kindly write a check out to CMAP and address it to CMAP, 101 Poor Farm Road, Building B, Princeton, NJ 08540
Free Rides
The following rides are free:
- Penn Medicine Princeton Health
- Medically prescribed rehabilitation at Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center (Princeton)
Reserving Rides
- Rides between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays must be reserved no later than noon on the business day before the scheduled ride.
- To schedule a ride, call Ride Provide at 609.452.5144.
- Rides can be scheduled for any purpose between any points of origin and destination within the municipality, but medical appointments at Penn Medicine Princeton Health or at the Princeton Fitness and Wellness Centers (in both Princeton and Plainsboro) will receive priority.

Access Link
Access Link offers paratransit service (comparable to local bus service) to people with disabilities. Mini-buses and wheelchair-accessible vans are used.

EZ Ride’s Ryde4Life
Ryde4Life – EZ Ride’s transportation program offers older adults the option to request Lyft and Uber rides in real time .
- Available for those aged fifty and older
- Schedule rides with Lyft/Uber 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
- Nonrefundable annual membership fee $15
- EZ Ride charges the normal Lyft/Uber fee plus $2.50 administrative fee, tips are optional
- 50% discount for qualified program members, including: PAAD, Senior Gold, and Medicaid

GOGOGrandparent offers older adults the ability to schedule rides with popular rideshare services, or order groceries, prescription medications, meals and more with a simple phone call.

RideProvide
RideProvide is a Greater Mercer TMA program that offers safe and dependable door-to-door transportation options for those who don’t drive or choose to no longer drive. It’s open to adults 65 and older or those who are visually impaired in Mercer County, Plainsboro and the southern portion of Montgomery County, NJ. There is an annual membership fee of $40 per individual or $60 per family plus a per-ride fee. Transportation service is available Monday through Friday, within the service area. T.R.A.D.E. (Transportation Resources to Aid Disadvantaged and Elderly)
T.R.A.D.E. is a Mercer County-supported program that provide transportation assistance at no cost to adults aged sixty and older or those with disabilities. While transportation is free, a voluntary $1 contribution for each ride is requested.
MCAT — Middlesex County Area Transit
The Middlesex County Area Transit provides reservation-based transportation to seniors (sixty and above), disabled and other transportation dependent residents of Middlesex County. Transportation is provided within the County and up to 5 miles outside the County. This area includes University Medical Center at Princeton.

Tiger Transit
Princeton University’s TigerTransit shuttle system operates on a fixed route schedule, providing safe, convenient, and reliable transportation throughout the Princeton campus and surrounding community. There are TigerTransit stops located near most major academic and administrative buildings, commuter parking lots, and housing facilities.
Princeton Municipal Transit Bus (Muni Bus)
Muni Bus (formerly known as FreeB) is a free municipal bus service open to the Princeton Community.

Senior Care Services of Greater Princeton
Senior Care Services of Greater Princeton provides rides to medical-related appointments to adults aged sixty-five and over who live within a ten-mile radius of Princeton. Those seeking transportation must be ambulatory and able to get in and out of the car with minimal assistance. Rides are provided by volunteers in their personal vehicles.
